Tue., Apr. 11, 2006, 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Our presenters will be: Mary Catherine Davidson (English), Cecily Hilsdale (Art History), Caroline Jewers (French & Italian), Emma Scioli (Classics), Tara Welch (Classics), and John Younger (Classics). In short presentations, they will look at presenting the literature and culture of before 1500 in a variety of media: comic books, cartoons, television, and films. There will be no papers for the session, and we invite you to come and join the discussion on the ever interesting interface of high culture and pop culture.

To be discussed:
The Odyssey (in a children's film version from Australia)
Julie Taymor's Titus
Fellini's Roma
Screen Arthurs
