?Marvin & Mel? stars Gary Burghoff (from the hit comedy-series M*A*S*H) who is also a famous film and off-Broadway star.
Two once-hot, middle-aged TV writers who haven?t had a hit show, much less a pitch meeting in a long time, decide to borrow a page from blacklisted screenwriters and begin working anonymously behind their ?front??young, pretty and Latina, Marie Gomes?who goes, virtually overnight, from delivering deli sandwiches to taking meetings at ABC, CBS and NBC.
George Tricker and Neil Rosen wrote this Comedy Premiere. In the best tradition of an off-couple comedy of sunshine boys, ?Marvin & Mel? tactfully combine ageism with wit and snappy staccato dialogue with a salute to the power of enduring friendship?which refuses to be broken even in the face of severe trials.
We will return from Overland Park, around 4:30 p.m.
