Bridging the Social Science and Humanities Perspectives on Genocide: When Reconciliation and Preventative Dialogue May Not Be Enough; Is Saying Sorry Enough?: The Quest for Truth and Reconciliation
Past Seminars : Facing Genocide & Its Aftermath

Thu., Apr. 24, 2014, 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Location: Hall Center Seminar Room 1

Open to faculty, staff, & graduate students.

The two articles posted are supplements to Omelicheva's presentation. They provide an overview of ethnic violence that took place in Kyrgyzstan in 1990 and 2010 (She will use these incidents as a case study in her presentation). The selected works are also representative of the humanities and social science research on ethnic cleansing and genocide. There is not need to peruse these pieces thoroughly, but a quick look to get some background information the little known incidents would save some time.
