"Galileo as a Working Scientist," Dava Sobel
New Generation Society of Lawrence (NGSL members only)

Location: Bruckmiller Room, Adams Alumni Center
Dava Sobel will discuss how Galileo applied for funding and patents, dealt with plagiarism and publication, collaborated with other scientists and scientific societies, and managed problems of peer review and technology transfer. She will also discuss the mistakes he made in his theories and the discoveries he missed in his observations.
