"The German Community of Lawrence"--Phyllis Farrer
New Generation Society of Lawrence (NGSL members only)

Tue., Nov. 11, 2003, 9:00am
Location: Watkins Community Museum
Germans in Lawrence have had a rich history. Students in Phyllis Farrer?s German class at West Junior High initiated a project to discover the local German heritage. This evolved into an NEH grant and was the nucleus of a web site that has grown over the last three years. See it at http://history.lawrence.com/ and you will get some idea about how important Germans were in our community. (It?s just a coincidence that this program is on what we used to call Armistice Day.) Phyllis Farrer will present the program.

November 11, 2003
9:00 a.m.

Cost: $20

Where: Watkins Community Museum, 11th & Massachusetts; free parking in the lot on Vermont or Kentucky.

Preregistration is required for all programs. Programs may be attended by NGSL members and their out-of-town guests.
