Location: Watkins Community Museum, 1047 Massachusetts

Dan Rockhill, Constant Distinguished Professor of Architecture, and his class, Studio 804, are designing and building an addition to Marvin Hall this year.  Studio 804 is a class for 3rd year architectural students designed to give them hands on experience in design and construction with a project completed usually in an academic year.  The class has designed and built houses both in Lawrence and Kansas City and after the Greensburg tornado, and has designed and built a cultural arts center for the community with LEED designation. It stands as one of many significant projects that the class has done since 1995 when he started the class.   His own firm, Rockhill and Associates, has designed homes here in Lawrence for individuals that are important. An interesting note is that when he and his family moved to Lawrence in 1980, they moved into a 1916 Sears Roebuck mail-order catalog farmhouse.
