Open to graduate students only. Lunch provided. RSVP required by March 4 to hallcenter@ku.edu.
Location: Hall Center Seminar Room

As graduate students, we strive to make our research interdisciplinary in order to attract a larger audience, but challenges often arise as we unite different fields. How do we effectively illustrate the unique and important relationship between diverse and often seemingly unrelated fields of study? How do we do this without making too many assumptions, imposing our own views, or straying too far from the main text(s)? Using examples from her dissertation research on fainting in medieval French literature, Angela Hendrickson will talk about her experience incorporating medieval medicine, cultural studies, and literary theory. Together we will discuss different useful approaches, as well as the challenges we have encountered.
