If you wonder if you've lost your writing mojo, or if you are stalled in a writing project, or you just need to get a writing schedule organized to tackle that major writing project coming up, contact our Graduate Writing Specialist Liana Silva(lianasilva@ku.edu) to make an appointment. Liana will help you get back on track and assess what kind of writing support you need.

Make an Appointment
There are 60 minute appointments with Graduate Writing Consultants available at both our Anschutz or Watson locations. Schedule a time by using our online appointment system or calling 785.864.2399.
Online Consultations
Submit your writing online and receive a response by e-mail within 48 hours (except weekends). Available to all KU students and staff during the spring, summer, and fall semesters.
Graduate Student Writing Groups
Our graduate student writing groups provide participants with a community of writers as well as a sense of accountability. They complement our other types of support like the Write-Ins (Fall, Spring), and graduate student writing consultations.
Graduate Student Research/Write-In
Whether you are preparing for your comprehensive exams, writing your dissertation or dissertation prospectus, editing a paper for publication, writing a book review or fellowship application, the Graduate Student Research/Write-Ins can be an ideal space to work on your writing goals.
Additional Writing Support
Dissertation Distress/Thesis Torment Group
This group is for graduate students who are working on a dissertation or thesis. The focus is on problem solving, taking positive action, and staying motivated. It is open to students in all graduate programs.
Graduate Writing Program
The KU Graduate Writing Program offers writing and presentation classes, a writing group, and workshops for graduate students and faculty. Classes include GS 750 (Professional Writing); GS 700 (Thesis and Dissertation Writing); GS 706 Professional Presentations, and GS 710 (Thesis and Dissertation Writing Tutorial).
