The University of Kansas Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is an educational and skills program designed specifically to serve the needs of today's veterans. Our mission is to provide qualifying veterans with the skill and motivation necessary to complete a GED program, or to enter and succeed in a postsecondary education program.

We offer a unique range of services designed to prepare eligible veterans for success when they enter their chosen educational program, whether it is at a 2-year community college, a 4-year college or university, or a public or private vocational or technical school. All services, including instruction, textbooks, advising, and supplies, are provided FREE of charge.

VUB is a TRIO Program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and is administered through the The Institute for Educational Research and Public Service in the School of Education at the University of Kansas . We serve veterans in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area including Leavenworth and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas, and Jackson, Cass, and Clay Counties in Missouri. Our main office is located in Kansas City, Kansas.
