KU Staff Summer Food Drive

2010 Food Drive

KU Unclassified Senate and University Support Staff Senate joined forces to host the second annual KU Staff Summer Food Drive, July 12 through 16. This food drive is scheduled in July to combat shortages in supply and higher demand that typically occur in summer. The event gathered donations for Just Food, an organization that works with community partners to feed hungry families in Lawrence. In the six months prior to the drive, Just Food helped to provide food for 4,200 households that included over 16,000 individuals.

This year we gathered 3,590 pounds of non perishable food. Collection points were hosted across campus. Thanks to everyone who donated and hosted collection points in their campus locations.

How You Can Help

This year's food drive is over, but you can still help. To make a monetary donation, go to www.justfoodfund.org to donate online. Please enter “KU Staff Summer Food Drive” in the comments field so your donation will be counted in this drive.
