The Unclassified Senate exists to foster closer cooperation and exchange between unclassified professional staff; serve as a forum for discussion of common employment concerns; facilitate professional development activities for members; and provide a formal channel to communicate common concerns to appropriate university and state officials.

All unclassified (non-faculty) staff at KU are represented by the Unclassified Senate.

Unclassified Staff at the University of Kansas empower every aspect of KU. From students and faculty to research and service, unclassified staff members enable the university, the state and the students to move forward and achieve their best.

Unclassified staff hold a variety of positions at KU including:

There are more than 1,900 Unclassified Professional Staff at KU. Of those, more than 500 hold bachelor’s degrees, more than 625 hold master’s degrees and more than 250 hold doctorate degrees.

Unclassified Professional Staff are dedicated to KU. More than 350 staff members have been at KU for 6 to 10 years, and more than 525 have served KU for 11 years or more.
