University Governance
Dear SenEx members -
Re Item III, see attached report from the Libraries Committee.
Re Item IV, here is additional information provided by Ada Emmett.
A coalition of student groups representing over 5 million students has put out a “Statement on the Right to Research”: http://www.righttoresearch.org/students/statement.shtml.
Student senate might consider endorsing the Student Statement on the Right to Research http://www.righttoresearch.org/endorse/
Re Item V, you may recall that University Senate remanded this amendment back to SenEx to consider additional text related to summer school or shorter courses.
As usual, please let me know if you will not be present on Tuesday.
Molly
