The Organization and Committee was charged this year with considering the incorporation of a faculty referendum into the proposed University Governance restructuring which was considered last year. The committee met through the fall semester to discuss the issues and ultimately proposed a “notice and comment” process that would apply when amending USRR, FSRR, and University Senate Code, as well as a modest strengthening of the reconsideration procedure contemplated by the original proposals. The Committee did not recommend the incorporation of a referendum. The University and Faculty Councils adopted the Committee’s proposals and the University Governance restructuring (as amended) in the early spring.

The Committee’s other charges involved consideration of matters referred to it. No other matters were referred to the Committee.
