Y.E.S. Tutoring

The Youth Educational Services Program (YES) provides the opportunity for KU students to work in a tutor or mentor relationship with "at-risk" students in Lawrence elementary and secondary schools.

The YES program is not limited to education majors; applications are sought from any student who wants to have a positive effect on the educational experience of "at-risk" elementary, junior high and high school students. To be eligible:

• you must be a degree seeking student currently enrolled in at least 6 credits
• you must maintain a minimum semester and cumulative grade point average of 2.0
• you must be a Kansas resident.

Applicant's materials are then forwarded to schools in Lawrence, Kansas. The schools will contact applicants directly to schedule interviews.
