NOTE: To apply for on-campus jobs, students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the academic school year. Students must maintain at least 6 credit hours of enrollment to remain employed on campus. For additional information about student employment policies, please see the student employment handbook.
Students do not need to be enrolled in summer school to work during the summer on campus, but must have been enrolled during the past spring or enrolled in the upcoming fall semester.
Hours and pay
Students working on-campus are paid according to the same schedule as all other state employees. Students may hold more than one job, but they cannot work more than thirty (30) hours per week, on-campus, when classes are in session. Students may not be paid on more than one payroll type, therefore a student may not be hired in both a monthly and an hourly position.
Federal Work Study
Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally subsidized program designed to promote employment of financially eligible students to help them avoid accumulating excessive debt while in school. Eligibility is determined by completing the federal financial aid application process. All on-campus FWS job vacancy listings are posted on the web site.
Each student is responsible for his/her own job search. When classes are in session, students may work up to 20 hours per week on the FWS payroll. No student is allowed to work over his/her maximum earnings limit on the FWS payroll. A student may work an additional 10 hours per week on the regular student hourly payroll.
If your financial aid package does not include FWS, make an appointment with an Assistant Director in the Office of Student Financial Aid to inquire about the availability of funds and to determine your eligibility.
