Research Interests
I am currently working on inducing the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells along osteogenic lines, using known and novel inducers. We determine the effects of drug substances on the proliferation of these stem cells following which the cells are incubated in osteogenic media alone or in media plus the drug of interest. The envisioned end points include characterizing the cells for alkaline phosphatase activity, calcium content, gene expression, morphological attributes, and histological features.
