EndNote X (10.0.2) Download/Install for Mac OSX (10.3.9 and higher)

NOTE: Please check with your local technical support staff person before installing this software. The installation requires administrator rights on your machine. If you do not have administrator rights then you will need assistance to install this software. EndNote X requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher, and requires Word 2004 or Word X. Check compatibility with word processing software .(If your computer is supported by LAN Support Services, call 864-0400 or email lsshelp@ku.edu for assistance with this install.)

Before downloading - uninstall old version:
If you have a previous version of EndNote, uninstall it before installing the new version. If you have customized any output styles, connection files or import filters, move them to your desktop before uninstalling the previous version. After installing the new version you will need to move the files back to the appropriate folder in the new EndNote X directory.

Download EndNote X for Mac OSX Now (You need to log in with your KU Online ID to download this software.)

NOTE You need to follow all steps in these instructions for EndNote to install correctly.

1. Click on the Download Now link above and log in with your KU Online ID username and password.
2. You should select "Save to Disk" to download the XXXX_ EndNoteX.dmg file. (If you use Safari it automatically saves the expanded file as Endnote X folder). You will need to locate the file (XXXX_ EndNoteX.dmg) on your computer after it downloads and double click on it to expand.
3. After expanding the file, double click on the EndNote X Volume Installer.
4. Drag the EndNote X folder to the Applications folder on your computer.
5. After the copy is completed, open the EndNote X folder (in your Applications folder).
6. Double click on the EndNote X icon to launch the installer.
7. Follow the instructions given by the EndNote Customizer to complete the installation. Click on the “Next” button to move forward between the following installation dialogs:
   
   • Welcome to EndNote X.
   • Read Me: Read latest news about this version of EndNote.
   • Palm Read Me: Read information about EndNote for the Palm operating system.
   • License Agreement: You must select “I Accept the License agreement” in order to start installing the EndNote files.
8. The final dialog is Thank You for using EndNote, click on “Done” button to close the EndNote Customizer and start EndNote X.
9. If you created customized EndNote styles, import filters, or connection files in a previous version of EndNote, and saved those files prior to uninstalling that version, move those files to the appropriate folders in the "EndNote X " program folder (style files go in the "Styles" folder, import filters go in the "Filters" folder, and connection files go in the "Connections" folder). If you do not have any customized EndNote files, skip this step.
   
   Information about using EndNote
