ARTS (Academic Record Tracking System) Form
(Details) 		The ARTS form gives students a quick overview of classes taken and requirements fulfilled.
Ask a Librarian Get the research help you need in a variety of ways: chat, email, phone, or in person.
Blackboard Access online course materials through the Blackboard web site.
Blackboard - Course Creation Learn to put course materials online and use Web-based tools for interaction, assessment, and course management with Blackboard. Only available for faculty, GTAs, and instructors.
Cable TV - Campus Housing

KU IT provides expanded basic cable TV to students living in Stouffer Place Apartments.
Cable TV - Faculty & Staff
(Details) 		IT provides cable television service to the University community via the campus-wide broadband system. Programming includes educational, informational and entertainment channels and broadcasts.
Class Rosters Online class rosters are available through Enroll & Pay. Rosters are updated daily and can be viewed and downloaded by the instructor of record.
Classroom Media and Clickers Media equipment (data projectors, document cameras, etc.) can be reserved for instructional use in KU classrooms.
Computer Labs Get information about locations, hours open and software installed in public labs across campus. See the Campus IT Resources map to find computer labs, walk-in support and wireless zones on campus.
Computer Security Get useful information about protecting your computer from viruses and hackers. Check with departmental technical support staff for assistance with protecting a university-owned computer.

Data Storage

KU Information Technology provides several options for campus users needing storage resources.
Data support The GIS and Data Lab provides workspace for KU students, staff and faculty, as well as assistance with numeric, geospatial, statistical and related data. The Lab supports GIS and statistics-related class work, teaching and research at KU.
Database Creation
(Details) 		KU Information Technology offers assistance in creating an online database for your web site, and an online database creation request form for people who want to maintain their own database.
Deskside Coaching Deskside Coaching is personal computer assistance in your office, tailored to fit your needs. Available for faculty and staff only.
Desktop Conferencing KU Information Technology provides a desktop conferencing service that supports and encourages collaboration with students and colleagues on campus and around the world.
Desktop Support - Application Patch Management

KU IT Workstation Support provides automatic Microsoft Windows and Sophos antivirus updates, patches for standard applications and security updates. $
Desktop Support - Full Support Package

Technical support for university owned machines is available through KU IT Workstation Support. $
Digital Publishing Digital Publishing Services provides support to the KU community for the design, management and distribution of online publications, including journals, conference proceedings, monographs, and other scholarly content.

Email

Information on acquiring a KU email account, including instructions on how to use it, manage it and access it via Outlook Web App or the Kyou portal.
Email - Class distribution lists Exchange email distribution lists are updated daily for your department or class.
Email - Departmental account Departmental email accounts are associated with a task or function, and are owned by the department or organization.

KU offers both Exchange and ListProc distribution lists. Click on Email distribution lists link to find out which list is best for you.
Enroll & Pay Enroll online, check your grades, pay tuition or put money on your KU card.
eWaste Recycling
(Details) 		This service provides a way for obsolete, unused or unwanted electronic equipment or data storage devices to be securely recycled. All sensitive and proprietary university or customer information is completely removed from the device before disposing of it in an environmentally safe manner. Equipment may include servers, desktops, thumb drives, tapes, printers, monitors, telephony, network gear, peripherals, etc.
Firewall Management
(Details) 		The IT Security Office offers firewall management and/or design to assist departments in developing, deploying or managing firewalls. $
GIS and Data Lab The GIS and Data Lab offers workshops and other training resources, access to GIS and statistical software, assistance working with data, and large-format scanning and printing services.
Grade posting Enroll & Pay system allows faculty to post grades electronically at the end of each semester.
Hawk Drive
(Details) 		Hawk Drive provides one location for all KU faculty, staff and student employees to share files, manage file portals, store and publish their content, collaborate on research projects and reduce administrative costs.
HR Pay Personnel related staff can get access to, and training for, the KU HR Pay system.
HR Payroll Personnel related staff with job duties related to Human Resources and Payroll activities may get access to the HR/Payroll system after attending training.
Images Image collections containing tens of thousands of digital images, some derived from local KU collections, some licensed from other providers, and some located at other universities. Most collections use Luna Insight software which provides searching, image manipulation, export, and presentation capabilities.
Instructional Design

IDS helps faculty, GTAs and instructors learn to use instructional technology to create dynamic classroom experiences. One-on-one, workshops, or seminars.
Internet Access - Faculty & Staff IT provides Internet access for faculty and staff on the Lawrence and Edwards campuses, as well as some off campus locations.

IT Customer Service Center IT Customer Service Center staff are available for computing assistance seven days a week. Call, email, or stop by the IT Lounge in the Burge Union to get help.
KU Anywhere KU Anywhere provides secure access to resources on the KU network (to use Outlook or access a departmental file server) from off campus locations. Service available to faculty (including emeriti), staff, GTAs and GRAs.
KU Card Use your KU Card to pay for meals, lab printing, check out Library books, and more.
KU Info A great source of information about KU and beyond. Call with your questions, or go to the website to browse the Q&A database that the KU Info staff uses.

The KU IT Knowledgebase provides the KU community with a self-service solution for obtaining assistance with IT-related questions and services.
KU IT Workstation Support
KU Online ID The KU Online ID (and associated password) is your key to access many online services at KU including email, Blackboard, Enroll & Pay, Kyou portal, etc.
KU ScholarWorks KU ScholarWorks is a digital repository for scholarly work created by KU faculty and staff. It makes important research available to a wider audience and helps assure its long-term preservation.
Kyou portal Your first stop for online services at KU. Access email, course schedules, grades, put money on your KU card, purchase a parking permit, renew a library book and much more--all from one location.
Lab Management
(Details) 		Central support for departmental computing labs that includes creating desktop images, installation and updating of software. $
Lab Reservations Reserve a computing lab for instructional purposes. Site provides lab locations, software installed, and online reservation requests.
Library - Catalog
(Details) 		Online catalog for collections held by KU Libraries, Law Libraries, Medical Libraries, Learning Resource Center, and other Libraries. Includes over three million books, journals, periodicals, newspapers, audio/visual materials, etc.
Library - Course reserves
(Details) 		Reserve library materials either on-site or online for student access. Articles on electronic reserve can be accessed by students anytime they need them.

(Details) 		Find electronic journals on a wide range of topics.

Library - Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery
(Details) 		Request items that are not available from the KU Libraries or request copies of articles from print journals held in the KU Libraries.
Library - Online Databases
(Details) 		Alphabetic, broad subject, and search access to citation and full-text databases, almost all provided through KU Library subscriptions.
Library - Retrieve From Shelf
(Details) 		Eligible KU borrowers may request that books, videos, and other items located in one KU Library be delivered for pickup at another KU Library.
Library - Services for People with Disabilities The KU Libraries provides various types of assistance for people with disabilities in obtaining, accessing, and making use of library resources, materials, and services.
Library - TripSaver
(Details) 		Eligible KU Lawrence campus faculty/staff may request that books, videos, and other items located in one KU Library be delivered to their office wherever Campus Mail delivers.
Media Classrooms Find out which classrooms are designated as media classrooms, how to reserve a media classroom, and what equipment is installed.
Music on Hold Service that allows licensed, pre-recorded music and KU-related items of interest to be played while callers are on hold. Currently for Lawrence campus phone numbers only.
Network Time Protocol Network Time Protocol (NTP) is an Internet protocol used to synchronize computer clocks to the agreed upon standard of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Password Management Change the password used to access KU Online services (email, Blackboard, Enroll & Pay, Kyou portal, etc.).
Printer Management Print management system that administrators (mainly TLs and office managers) use for monitoring, reporting and controlling access to campus printers/multifunction devices
Public Printing and Photocopying
(Details)

This service provides the ability for multifunction devices and printers to be used for fee-based printing and photocopying by integrating them with the PaperCut Payment Gateway and KU Card systems.
Research Server Research accounts on a Unix server are available for KU researchers who need access to statistical software and CPU-intensive numerical processing.
Scanning, Oversize Large-format (color) scanning services are available in the GIS and Data Lab, next to the Map Collection in Anschutz Library.
Schedule of Classes Schedule of classes offered, including information about how many seats are available.
Security Assessments The IT Security Office offers security assessments to help departments identify security risks and vulnerabilities.
Security Consulting The IT Security Office offers network security consulting to help departments secure their work environment.
Server Hosting (Managed Services)
(Details) 		KU campus departments can choose to locate physical or virtual servers in the IT Data Center located in the Computer Services Facility. Services provided include 24 hour system monitoring, controlled power and temperature environment, a secure facility, backup, restore and offsite storage services, and problem management. KU IT will work with individual customers to design a managed services agreement which fits their needs. $
Server Management Central support for departmental servers offered by LAN Support Services. $
Software Everything you want to know about software at KU: what software is offered free, what is available at a reduced price, where to get training, and what software is installed in the open computer labs on campus. Free and $
Statistical support Get assistance with several statistical software packages; workshops and one-on-one consultations available.
Streaming Media

Provides KU faculty and staff with the ability to distribute streamed media files (audio or video) to support courses or university web sites.

IT provides telephone and voicemail service for faculty and staff.
Training - In the classroom Trainers can work with faculty to provide training materials and in-class training on many software applications (such as Microsoft Excel) and other computer topics (like Web authoring).
Training - Workshops

An extensive schedule of free workshops are provided to help you use computers more effectively. Includes computer and library training.
Video Conferencing Campus video conferencing services are provided by KU Media Productions.

KU offers several services that support using multimedia and desktop conferencing to enhance learning, provide professional development and encourage collaboration with colleagues around the world.
Virtual Service Desk

Report technical issues online and check the status of any issues you have open.
Voicemail J-TALK is KU's complete call answering and voice mail system. Available services include mailboxes, bulletin boards (outbound messages only) and automated attendants.
VPN VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows access to campus services, such as Outlook or a local file server, from home. KU's VPN service is called KU Anywhere. Only available for faculty (including emeriti), staff, GTAs and GRAs.
Web - Departmental Web Site
(Details) 		Space is available on a central Web server to host departmental or unit web sites.
Web - Organizational Web Site Student and campus organizations registered with the Student Involvement & Leadership Center are eligible to apply for 200MB of web hosting space on groups.ku.edu. Only the registered president of the organization is authorized to request or change the password to the web hosting account. More information about organization web hosting can be requested by contacting orgs@ku.edu.
Web - Personal Web Site Get space on the People Web server to host your personal Web page.
