Instructions for ApplicantsWe appreciate your interest in the Intercampus Program in Communicative Disorders (IPCD) at The University of Kansas. Our program has been recognized nationally as one of the outstanding programs in speech-language pathology and audiology. We offer state of the art research and clinical opportunities at the Master's and Doctoral levels. Our Intercampus Program combines faculty expertise from the campuses in Lawrence Kansas and the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. We hope you will have an opportunity to visit our campuses to learn more about our program. Please let us know if we can be of assistance in arranging a visit.
When to ApplyYour application for admission and transcripts should be submitted to the IPCD admission secretary no later than:
Applications received after these dates will be reviewed only if space is available. Occasionally, as resources permit, Speech students may be admitted in the Spring or Summer term. The AuD program only admits students for the Fall semester. This application is designed for prospective students who intend to enroll for more than one session. Although an undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is not required, applicants should have 12 hours of basic sciences and mathematics in addition to prerequisite courses within the major of speech-language pathology and audiology. These prerequisites should have been completed within the past ten years. Exceptions to this policy may be made when deemed appropriate by the Admissions Committee. How Your Application Will Be ProcessedThe IPCD Admissions Committee will review your application for admission and make a recommendation to the Graduate School where the final processing occurs. Evaluation is based principally on academic, research and clinical achievement/potential, including evidence from extra-curricular activities. Partially complete applications may be considered, but complete applications will be given priority. Applicants will be notified of their status by December 1st for entry in Spring and by April 1st for entry in Fall. All materials submitted for admission become the property of the University and are not returnable or transferable. Decisions made by the committee are final. GRE ScoresThe GRE General Test should be taken prior to your consideration for admission. We must receive your official scores (not photocopies) from the testing agency. Have your test scores forwarded to the University of Kansas (institutional code #6871).
