Undergraduate Program
Departmental Honors Program
The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing: Sciences and Disorders’ Honors Program is for
exceptional students interested in learning more about speech, language, and hearing, and
working with faculty members. To qualify for the honors program students should have an
overall KU GPA of 3.25 and a GPA of 3.5 in the major. Students in the Departmental Honors
Program typically take 6-8 credits of Honor Seminar over a period of two semesters. Involvement
in a research project or completion of a thesis may be the outcome of an honor student-faculty
collaboration. Successful completion of the Honors Program earns a student the distinction of
graduating with Departmental Honors. If you would like more information on how to enroll in
the Honors Program, please contact Professor Holly Storkel at 3021 Dole, 864-0497,
