What is Communication Camp?

The Sertoma-Schiefelbusch Communication Camp is a collaborative effort between the Lawrence Sertoma Club and the Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at The University of Kansas. The Communication Camp brings together children and youth with and without communication challenges to explore their world and improve their communication skills while participating in camp activities. The Camp is staffed by students and faculty from the Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic.

Who can participate in Communication Camp?

Children and youth with and without communication challenges. Children and youth will participate in activities by age group. Sessions I and II: 4-6 year olds, 7-9 year olds, 10-12 year olds.

All participants must be pre-registered. Please complete and return the registration form by May 1, 2008. register early, spaces are limited.

When and Where is Communication Camp?

Session I: June 30-July 3, July 7-11: 9 am to noon
Session II: June 30-July 3, July 7-11: 1 to 4 pm

Sessions will be held at Douglas County Fairgrounds, Building 21, Lawrence, KS.

How much does Communication Camp Cost?

$100 for each session
For children with communication challenges, $80 of this fee will be provided by the Lawrence Sertoma Club.
