Elementary Spanish I (5). U For beginning students of
Spanish. Not open to students who have had any previous study of
Spanish. Active preparation and participation required. Classes conducted
in Spanish. Not open to native speakers of Spanish.

Elementary Spanish II (5). U Only for students who have
completed SPAN 104 at the

SPAN 111
Intensive Elementary Spanish (5). For students who have had some previous
study of Spanish, but who do not place into the Intermediate level. This
course prepares students for Intermediate level study of Spanish. Active
preparation and participation required. Classes conducted in Spanish.
Not open to native speakers of Spanish. Prerequisite: at least one previous
high school or college course in Spanish.

212 Intermediate Spanish I
An intermediate language course designed to expand upon the communicative abilities developed in elementary Spanish. As well, this course will introduce cultural materials in order to familiarize students with the Hispanic world. Active preparation and participation required.
Students
who take SPAN 213 must be in the Honors Program. Active preparation and participation required. Classes conducted
in Spanish.
An intermediate
language course designed to expand upon speaking, listening, reading and
writing skills taught in SPAN 212 and SPAN 213 at the
SPAN
217 Intermediate Spanish II Honors
The Honors section of SPAN 216; to enroll, students must be in the Honors Program. Active preparation and participation required. Classes conducted in Spanish.
SPAN
220 Intensive Intermediate Spanish
Combines SPAN 212 and SPAN 216 in one semester.
SPAN 220 is for students who want an intensive, demanding
intermediate course. Active preparation and participation required. Classes
conducted in Spanish.
