Jorge Pérez
Jorge Pérez, Assistant Professor, received his B.A. (Licenciaturas en Filología Hispánica e Inglesa) from the University of Salamanca (Spain), and his Ph.D. degree in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before joining the faculty at KU he taught at Seton Hall University (2003-2004). His research interests include 20th century Spanish novel, film and literature, and Spanish cultural studies. He has published articles in España Contemporánea, Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies, Siglo XXI, and Anuario de Estudos Literarios Galegos, and has forthcoming articles in Anales de la Literatura Española Contemporánea and Arizona Journal of Hispanic Cultural Studies. He is currently working on a book-length project on national identity and globalization in the contemporary Spanish novel and culture. He has been awarded the 2006-2008 Cramer Professorship for research and teaching.
