Study Abroad Programs
These programs are open to students from North-American universities who seek college credit. Other study-abroad programs may be set up on an individualized basis if there is a demonstrated need and departmental backing.
Croatia (Zadar)
The University of Kansas Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures and the Office of Study Abroad offer students the opportunity to spend the summer in Zadar, Croatia, studying Croatian language and culture.
Czech Republic (Prague)
The program consists of six evening seminar meetings from late October to December at KU, in which various aspects of Czech history and culture are introduced, followed by a two-week trip to Prague during the winter break. NB: The 2009-10 Winter Program has been canceled due to budgetary considerations.
Russia (St. Petersburg)
The Summer Language and Culture program in St. Petersburg, Russia is designed to give intermediate-level students of Russian a short term, highly intensive introduction to current Russian life and culture.
Ukraine (L'viv)
This six-week program offers a unique opportunity for graduate students to study intensive Ukrainian language and area studies (political transition, society, economics, culture, etc.) in L’viv. Administered by the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies
