Step 1. Apply for Admission to KU and indicate a music degree code in the School of Fine Arts. Visit the Office of Admissions and Scholarships at www.admissions.ku.edu for academic admission requirements, KU academic scholarship information, and to apply online. The School of Fine Arts Priority Application Deadline is February 1; late applications can be submitted. Students interested in an academic scholarship should observe the November 1 deadline. No academic scholarships are awarded to applications received after December 1. Music scholarships are awarded in April to admitted students.
Step 2. Audition. All music students must audition for final acceptance to a music degree program. Submit your Audition Application Form and Audition Time Form at least three weeks before your preferred audition date. Times are confirmed by phone. Admittance letters will be sent soon after the audition. Music scholarships are awarded to students majoring in music, except athletic band scholarships. Late audition applications will be considered on a space available basis. Audition details are found in the Audition Application Form.
