Richard Branham

Professor of Industrial Design

Richard Branham has 34 years of professional design experience and 25 years of teaching and research experience. He received a master of science degree in product design in 1970 from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, and an M.F.A. and B.F.A. in industrial design from KU in 1962-1964. He has published, lectured and worked in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Richard has received numerous awards from the Society of Typographic
Artists, Chicago Book Clinic, Chicago Arts Guild and the Chicago Society of Communicating Artists. He has worked with a variety of clients, including the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, McDonald's Corporation in Oak Brook, Ill., and the China External Trade Development Council, Taipei, in the Republic of China.

Some of his research interests include cognitive human factors and interaction design techniques and methods.
