Lois Greene enjoys a strong relationship with the University of Kansas, having received a bachelor of fine arts degree with a focus in illustration from the university in 1965 and a master of fine arts degree in textile design in 1971. She later returned as a professor of design and chair of the department after participating in a master of arts program in graphic design with Western Michigan University. She became associate dean of KU's School of Fine Arts in July 2002.
Her courses have included Two-dimensional Design, Basic Visual Communications and Computers in Art Education, as well as summer study in Italy, for which she was nominated for Provost Award for Leadership in International Education in 2000.
Lois' achievements and activities extend beyond KU. Her creative work has included the redesign of "Focus" magazine, a publication of the American Geological Society, New York, and various promotional brochures for Lawrence's Convention and Visitors Bureau.
