A native Californian, Norman Gee was born, raised and educated in the San Francisco Bay area. He received his M.F.A. from the California College of Art and Crafts in 1967 and joined the KU faculty in 1969. Currently a professor of art, Gee teaches primarily in the areas of painting and drawing.
Exhibits include Cheney Cowles Museum, Spokane, Wash.; Wing Luke Museum, Seattle; Douglas Drake Gallery, Kansas City, Mo.; Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, Neb.; Wichita Art Museum, Wichita, Kan.; Hearst Center for the Arts, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Nevada Museum of Art, Reno, Nev.; and Marjorie Barrick Museum, UNLV, Las Vegas, Nev. Norman has selected works in the "Art in the Embassies Program,” Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Africa.
