Kyle K. Wetzel
| Kyle is President of Wetzel Engineering, an engineering consulting company specializing in wind energy and aerospace engineering research and development. Prior to starting his own company, Wetzel had also served as Executive Vice President and COO of Aerotech Engineering & Research Corp., Lawrence, Kansas, and before that as Technical Manager of the Next Generation Turbine Development Program at Enron Corporation in California. He previously owned and operated NeoEnergy Corp., a Lawrence, Kansas developer of small wind energy systems. Wetzel received his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas under the mentorship of Dr. Saeed Farokhi, Professor of Aerospace Engineering, his M.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas. Wetzel is the author of over 30 journal and conference papers on wind energy and aerospace engineering and is the inventor of two inventions for which patents are currently pending. Wetzel is a founding member of the Society of Self Fellows and served as President of the Board of Governors for the 2000-2001 term. He is also a member of the Chancellor's Club and the Engineering Deans Club at the University of Kansas. |
