Timeline

It is important that students meet various deadlines in order to be nominated for a Self Graduate Fellowship. The following serves as a suggested timeline for prospective Self Fellows.

September/October

Identify faculty references and provide a current copy of your resume.
Obtain letters of recommendation.

November

Identify prospective mentor and begin corresponding with him or her.
Confirm paperwork requirements and deadlines relevant to your admission to KU and fellowship nomination.
Submit graduate school application and all supporting materials.

December

Confirm with department that your application is complete.

January

Confirm Self Graduate Fellowship nomination status with graduate director of department.
If nominated, write personal statement early.
January 28, 2008: Nomination deadline from departments.
January 31, 2008: Personal Statements to SGF deadline.

February

February 15, 2008: Nominees selected for on-campus interviews.
February 27-March 2, 2008: On-campus interviews.

March

March 10, 2008: Self Graduate Fellowship extends offers to successful nominees.

April

April 15, 2008: Deadline for acceptance of offers.
