| Chris is a
2004 – 2008 Self Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science. He received a B.S. (1997) in computer science from Southwest Missouri State University and an M.S. (2005) in computer science from the University of Kansas. He received the Paul F. Heubner Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching. Chris worked for seven years as a software developer with an electric utility company, and has worked at a drug testing company. Chris' primary interests are data mining, bioinformatics, and machine learning. His long-term goal is to perform data mining on medical records to discover inherent health patterns that have not been previously noted.
