Cameron D. Siler



Cameron Cameron is a 2006 -2010 Self Fellow and a Ph.D. candidate in ecology and evolutionary biology. He received a B.S. (2004) in biology from the University of Texas at Austin. At the University of Texas, Siler received a Presidential Scholarship, a National Honor Society Scholarship, and the Howard W. Mckee Scholarship among others. Before coming to KU, Cameron was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to conduct a ten-month conservation and biodiversity survey of Philippine amphibians and reptiles. At KU he has been a curatorial assistant in the molecular phylogenetics lab at the Natural History Museum.

Cameron's research consists of biodiversity inventories of amphibians and reptiles, conservation assessments, and specifically, research in molecular systematics and phylogeography. Cameron plans to continue herpetology research in the Philippines and eventually pursue strong conservation policy and biodiversity education within nations of Southeast Asia.
