| Corinne is a 2008 – 2012 Self Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in geology. She received a B.S. (2004) in science of earth systems graduating cum laude from Cornell University and a M.S. (2008) in igneous geochemistry from Brown University. At Cornell, Corinne participated in Division 1 varsity crew for four years. She was also a research assistant while there, analyzing soil core samples for fire history reconstruction. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Corinne worked as the assistant to the director of the Paleontological Research Institution and the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY. Her graduate work at Brown focused on understanding magmatic composition and flow beneath mid-ocean ridges. At KU Corinne’s research will focus on paleobiogeography. Applying computer mapping and environmental modeling techniques, Corinne will analyze the distribution of fossil species in space and time to see how species responded to environmental change and how species interacted ecologically with each other. She intends to pursue a career in research science, education, and science writing.
