Annalise M. Nawrocki


Annalise is a 2007-2011 Self Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology. She received a B.S. (2003) in molecular biology and genetics from Northwestern University.

Before coming to KU, Annalise worked as a scientific/medical writer for Prescott Medical Communications Group in Chicago. As an undergraduate, she worked as a technician at an animal hospital, participated in undergraduate research, and served as president of her sorority. While at KU, Annalise has won the Ida H. Hyde Scholarship for Women in Science, for summer study at a marine field station, and the Kenneth B. Armitage Award for Teaching Excellence. Annalise’s research focuses on early evolutionary changes in developmental pathways. She is a member of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology.
