Elizabeth Burns

 

Elizabeth, a 2001-2005 Self Fellow, received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 2007. She received a B.A. (1999) in psychology, Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, with departmental high honors from Middlebury College. While there, she was awarded the Barbara Buchanan Memorial award (1999) as well as the Baumgarten and Udenzija Award (1997). In addition, she was admitted to the psychology honors society of Psi Chi in 1998.

She received an M.S. (2002) in counseling psychology from the University of Kansas. Her research interests at KU revolved around the positive psychology constructs of hope theory and prevention work with women experiencing post-partum depression.

Elizabeth is currently a staff counselor at the Counseling and Mental Health Center at the University of Texas - Austin.
