Nathan C. Berg

 

Nathan is a 1998-2002 Self Fellow. He received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Kansas in May 2001. He also received a B.A. (1995) with honors in American studies and a M.A. (1998) in mathematics at KU.

Nathan now is Cecil and Ida Green assistant professor of economics at the University of Texas at Dallas. He is collaborating with the Adaptive Behavior and Cognition Group at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin, working on economic models of decision-making using “fast and frugal heuristics.” His research in behavioral economics and applied econometrics focuses both on theoretical questions about preferences and judgment as well as micro-level policy issues in education, labor, and urban planning.

Nathan currently serves as president of the Board of Governors of the Society of Self Fellows.
