Bryce C. Baker

Bryce, a 2002-2006 Self Fellow, received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering in 2010. He received a B.S. (2000) in mechanical engineering and a M.S. (2002) in mechanical engineering from the University of Kansas. Bryce’s primary research interests were in automation design and control in robotics. He has worked for commercial research and development at Boeing. He has previously performed research in knowledge-based systems and developed a knowledge-based system to help advise operators through the process of laser marking of parts. In his graduate work he also worked on improving bipedal locomotion across uneven and rough terrain by developing a robotic foot that will conform and react to the terrain like a human foot. Bryce is currently a senior research assistant in the Intelligent Systems and Automation Lab at KU and also a lecturer for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
