Private Scholarship Applications

The scholarships listed here are from agencies outside KU who requested their scholarships be publicized to our students. These scholarships vary in their qualifications, requirements, and deadlines, so all students are encouraged to pursue the opportunities listed here.

If you do receive a scholarship from any outside agency, you should report these scholarships in Enroll & Pay at sa.ku.edu (Student Center > Accept/Decline Awards, Page 2) or notify FAS by email, mail, or fax. If you report by email , mail, or fax, please indicate the scholarship name, amount, and term (fall/spring/summer) as well as your first and last name initials (please do not include your full name for security reasons), KUID number, permanent address and phone number, and day and month of birth (please do not include year for security reasons).

Need Analysis

Many scholarship applications consider financial need as well as academic performance. This portion of the application, also known as a Need Analysis, must be completed and certified by Financial Aid and Scholarships (FAS). Please print, complete and submit the General Need Analysis Request Form along with information from the donor preferably 2 weeks prior to the scholarship application deadline. If you have questions about Need Analysis, please contact FAS.

  • Kansas Association for Family and Community Education Adult Education Grant
    Deadline: 06/01
    Amount: Various
    Description: Provides financial assistance to a recipient wishing to reenter the labor force, enable the recipient to move to a higher level job in present field or to a job in a more highly skilled field. Applicants should be KS residents and demonstrate finiancial need.

    Description: Applicant must attend a Kansas college and be working toward a degree in Environmental, Civil Engineering or Urban Planning. Must be a resident of Kansas and have a 3.0 GPA.

    Amount: up to $3,000
    Description: Full-time undergraduate or graduate student or a part-time graduate student registered in a Kansas or Missouri college or university enrolled in a curriculum related to facility management, including interior design, architecture, engineering, business operations, construction science and environmental design.

    Description: Kansas Resident and graduate of Kansas state high school. Enrolled or enrolling as a full-time student (12 hours minimum/semester) in an accredited Kansas four-year college or university for the coming fall semester. Applicant must have participated in junior golf programs sponsored by Kansas organizations.

    Description: Scholarship for Pell eligible students who are 21 or younger with a 2.0 GPA. Students must be either a current SES participant at KU or a former GEAR UP/TRIO student while in Junior High or High School.

    Description: Students who have completed two years of college, are residents of KS, and have high moral and social standards, a 3.0 GPA and an aptitude for teaching. Students must agree to teach immediately after graduation in a public school in Kansas for a time period equal to the number of semesters the scholarship was received.
