Private Scholarship Applications

The scholarships listed here are from agencies outside KU who requested their scholarships be publicized to our students. These scholarships vary in their qualifications, requirements, and deadlines, so all students are encouraged to pursue the opportunities listed here.

If you do receive a scholarship from any outside agency, you should report these scholarships in Enroll & Pay at sa.ku.edu (Student Center > Accept/Decline Awards, Page 2) or notify FAS by email, mail, or fax. If you report by email , mail, or fax, please indicate the scholarship name, amount, and term (fall/spring/summer) as well as your first and last name initials (please do not include your full name for security reasons), KUID number, permanent address and phone number, and day and month of birth (please do not include year for security reasons).

Need Analysis

Many scholarship applications consider financial need as well as academic performance. This portion of the application, also known as a Need Analysis, must be completed and certified by Financial Aid and Scholarships (FAS). Please print, complete and submit the General Need Analysis Request Form along with information from the donor preferably 2 weeks prior to the scholarship application deadline. If you have questions about Need Analysis, please contact FAS.

  • Hazing Awareness Fund
    Deadline: Various Every 6th of the month
    Amount: $500
    Description: Scholarship for books & supplies. All students enrolled in a college with a greek social setting who have a 2.0 or higher may enter.

  • Heavy Constructors Association of the Greater Kansas City Area
    Deadline: 04/30
    Amount: up to $4,000
    Description: Full-time students with financial need who plan to obtain career in construction.

    Description: Available to any student that is 19 years or under, as of October 25, 2010 and is renewable.

  • Henry J. Talge Memorial Scholarship
    Deadline: 03/02
    Amount: $2,500
    Description: Applicants must be entering their senior year of undergraduate studies or their first year of graduate work and majoring in international studies at an accredited school in the United States.

    Deadline: 04/29
    Amount: $1,000 and up
    Description: Graduate of Allen County, Kansas, high school studying teaching (undergraduates only), bookkeeping, or carpentry.

    Amount: Various
    Description: Students must demonstrate financial need, meet the criteria for the specified for the program to which they are applying, and be attending full-time at a HACU-member institution at the time scholarship awards are made.

    Amount: $1,000
    Description: Full-time freshman, sophomore or junior who was employed at a Hy-Vee location after June 1, 2009 for the scholarship awarded during the 2010-2010 year.
