Professor Emeritus at the London School of Economics

Her main research interest is ‘cults’, ‘sects’ and new religious movements, and the social
reactions to which they give rise. A frequent advisor to governments and other official bodies around the world, she is the founder and honorary Director of INFORM (Information Network Focus on Religious Movements).
