Summary of Disaster:

 

“This was the worst flood we have experienced,” according to the emergency manager.  “The storms and flooding caused extensive damage to farms. Approximately five miles of fence washed out along three major streams, and several bridges washed out making three families isolated in different parts of the County. Calves were also lost due to drowning and the storm washed away numerous and large hay bales.” Governor Gilmore reported that more than 1,600 residences and about 50 businesses were affected.

 

Reported Injuries, Deaths, and Rescue at the Site:

 

There were no reported injuries and deaths, but 25 were evacuated according to the Tazewell County emergency manager.
