Summary of Disaster: According to the NBC news website, “Tropical Storm Isidore worked its way inland with 65 mph winds, tornado warnings, and flood watches.” The emergency manager of the county noted in the research interview that the storm impacted the county with over $2 million in property damage. She stated, “Basically, our main disaster was the loss of a beach renourishment program that was underway in the Gulf Shores area.”
Reported Injuries, Deaths, and Rescue at the Site: There were no reported injuries or deaths, but 70 people were evacuated, while none of those evacuated had mobility impairments, according to the emergency manager.Site Demographics:
