Virtual PLUS sessions are offered daily two weeks before the start of the semester. PLUS peer leaders will facilitate interactive sessions on major topics in Biology 150 (Principles of Molecular and Cellular Biology) and Chemistry 130 (General Chemistry I). This virtual PLUS is intended as a course review to students enrolled in these courses.
One hour session topics include the following:
CHEM 130: Basic math, DA, What is an atom?, phases, waves, energy, Lewis structures, molecular geometry, gases, PV=nRT, intermolecular forces, balancing equations, and nomenclature
BIOL 150: General chemistry, macromolecules, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, properties of the cell membrane, the central dogma, DNA replication, transcription, translation, mitosis, meiosis, and cell signaling
There is a limited capacity for Virtual PLUS Bridge. Interested students are encouraged to sign up or email the PLUS Director Lynn Villafuerte
