INVITED SPEAKERS
Dr. Pamela Gay, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville
Expertise: variable star astronomy with emphasis on multi-periodic field RR Lyrae stars.
Co-producer of Astronomy Cast, a weekly facts-based podcast presenting
our knowledge of astronomy and how we obtain it.
Dr. Dan McIntosh, University of Missouri, Kansas City
Expertise: the observational study of galaxy origins and evolution, including galaxy-galaxy mergers
and interactions, galaxy transformation and bimodality, cosmological environments and dark matter,
and multi-wavelength extragalactic surveys.
LODGING
The two hotels that are most commonly used by attendees are:
Embassy Suites Hotel on the Plaza
This is also the site for dinner on Friday evening, so it is convenient.
and
Best Western Seville Plaza Hotel
The room rates at the Best Western are ~1/2 those at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
