Bales Organ Recital Hall

The University of Kansas is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. The entrance and graduation requirements conform to the published guidelines of this organization.

The school acquaints students with the fine arts as an important field of liberal culture, either as members of a discriminating public or as trained practitioners. It prepares students for careers in art, design, dance, and music and promotes scholarship and research in the arts. It offers curricula for teachers of music and art in public schools and institutions of higher education and special degree curricula for training music therapists.

Students who wish to major in music must audition. All music students approved for admission to the School of Music are admitted contingent upon demonstration by audition of satisfactory level proficiency in their area of applied music.
