Language& Technology
This module introduces the teachers to three instructional technology perspectives for individualizing instruction to benefit diverse language learners. The perspectives include:
  • Interactive (learner-to-content) technology programs;
  • Communicative (learner-to-another person) technology programs; and
  • Assistive (augmentative and alternative communication) technology programs that enable students with certain types of disabilities to access both interactive and communicative programs.
An underlying theme of the module promotes universal access to learning for all students through technology, and supports modifications in instruction with technology to achieve optimal learning for K-12 students with differences in language, culture, and disabilities.
