Chancellor's Reception
Annually the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Provost, and the Office of the Vice Provost for Students Success sponsors the Chancellor’s Reception for Students of Color. This reception is an opportunity for student of color organizations and its members to visit with Chancellor and her staff at her campus residence. Recognition of student leaders, networking and some entertainment serves as the structure for this event which is always a highlight of the year.

OMA Graduation Banquet
In an effort to recognize the achievements of students, OMA sponsors an annual graduation banquet. The banquet is of no cost to graduating students and features a pre-banquet reception, entertainment, a keynote speaker, individual certificates, and special acknowledgments. The banquet is an important tradition at the University of Kansas and a part of the commencement calendar.

MLK Luminaria Walk &

This program is an opportunity for the KU community to come together and reflect on the accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King JR. The program focuses on the work that still needs to be done to combat hate and injustice. The program features a “Luminary Walk” sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., followed by a keynote speaker.
