Dr. Charles RobinsonDr. Charles Robinson is a native Houstonian. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at the University of Houston, graduating with honors. He earned a Masters Degree at Rice University and a Ph.D. Degree at the University of Houston. Dr. Robinson has been a college teacher for over 16 years. He taught his first nine years at Houston Community College and is presently an Associate Professor of History and Director of the African American Studies at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Teaching and lecturing are Dr. Robinson’s passions. In his short tenure at the University of Arkansas he has been awarded the Fulbright College Master Teacher Award, the Arkansas Alumni Distinguished Teacher Award, the Student Alumni Board Teacher of the Year Award and has been cited for excellence and induction to the university’s Teaching Academy. Furthermore, Dr. Robinson has been invited by numerous universities and professional organizations to speak on a variety of topics. Dr. Robinson has published a book entitled, Dangerous Liaisons: Sex and Love in the Segregated South (2003) with the University of Arkansas Press and is presently working on another called, Forsaking All Others: A Story of Interracial Love, Betrayal, and Revenge in the Post Civil War South, which he hopes to finish by the end of the year. Dr. Robinson strives to live by the admonition found Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” |
