We Are One Community

Our Vision is to build and sustain an inclusive campus community that values and respects all member of the University community.

Our Mission The Office of Multicultural Affairs in the Sabatini Multicultural Resource Center must have the common goal to collaborate with instructional and non-instructional departments in academic preparation, recruitment, retention, and programming for students of color. We must assist all students who are committed to the acceptance, appreciation, and understanding of diversity and multicultural issues. Our office must strive to articulate a strong sense of campus community among all students while promoting the academic mission of our institution.  The fundamental role of our office must be to assist students of color in successfully participating in every level of the University experience and becoming successful graduates.

Academic Resources
The Office of Multicultural Affairs is dedicated to assisting all students in their academic transition to The University of Kansas. The Office of Multicultural Affairs offers several programs for students to use through the office and across campus. Through these programs, academic courses, Hawk Link, Transitions, and SOAR, students will find several resources to establish their academic career.
Diversity Education Programs
Several multicultural education workshops are supported through the Office of Multicultural Affairs to raise awareness about issues for KU students, faculty and staff. Our staff can provide one-on-one consultation and training for student organizations and university groups. We will assist individuals and organizations to examine their assumptions about diversity and multicultural issues.
Special Events
Specific programs that take place annually to provide awareness and recognition of distinct events.

Corporate Career Connections Program
Corporate career connections has several components that encourage students to become involved in academic enhancement, leadership development, and the career exploration process early in their college experience. The intent is to increase participants’ knowledge about current leadership and professional career attainment strategies available on campus and through KU corporate affiliates associated with the Office of Multicultural Affairs. Components also encourage open dialogue between students, student leadership organizations, corporate representatives, and various KU departments that have resources specific to this population’s academic and career attainment success.
