General Education Goals Committee Charge

To examine the eleven goals of general education to determine:

• Do the goals still represent the knowledge and skills students should learn as result of general education?

• Do the goals still reflect the curricular means to achieve these goals?

• Do the goals include the current methods of assessing goal attainment? More specifically,

• Should a goal specific to science and technology be added?

• Are goals too ambiguous to be meaningful?

• Should goals be more widely disseminated among students, faculty, community, etc. to be valuable and influential? Tied to course content, syllabi, objectives, etc.?
